Shades Of Spring 2015
This spring the spectrum of colors is softer and cooler. They have a natural, peaceful, calming aspect, far from the hustle and bustle of the technological madness in which we live. They provoke images of quieter, simpler times gone by, of values and friendships. The colors are bright yet subtle and somewhat understated. They are muted, reliable, trustworthy and comforting. They have a retro feel that evokes images of folkloric craftsmanship, when dyes were extracted from plants, and shades were in harmony with nature. Khakis, pale pastels and neutral tones abound, and the combinations create the impression of tropical landscapes and peaceful gardens. The colors are real, as they occur in nature, not manipulated or invented. Subtle, warm blends combine with cooler hues to create peace and calm.
Aquamarine has pleasant, soothing tones which combine equally well with other cool colors as well as with brighter tones, and goes great with Marsala or Glacier Gray.
Classic Blue has long been one of the most elegant of colors, and it remains strong this spring. The classic blue tones with navy blue inclinations create feelings of reliability and trust in our subconscious, and it harmonizes perfectly with Marsala and Sandstone.
Scuba Blue is a wonderfully feminine shade, and although blue is sometimes considered to be cool and discouraging, when paired with Classic Blue or Lucite Green the effect if truly elegant.
Lucite Green is the combination of mint with classic green shades, and is a noteworthy innovation of this season’s colors. It offers the unique tone and saturated texture of the classic green tone while preserving an inner shimmer of cool, refreshing mint.
Toasted Almond is a peach inspired, sunny and energy filled color which combines beautifully with Lavender Herb to create a happy, carefree sensation.
Strawberry Ice is a very sweet, feminine tone of pink, for those who won’t relinquish their dreams, and it creates eye catching combinations with cool colors or with Tangerine or Toasted Almond.
Tangerine is a saturated form of traditional orange, which is bright and energizing, and it is sure to bring a smile to your face, and to get you noticed. Combined with Toasted Almond or Strawberry Ice it’s a real show stopper.
Custard, or the perfect mellow yellow, brings with it all the warmness of summer and the energy of the suns rays. Another shade which is guaranteed to generate happy smiles all around, this hue can make a real fashion statement when combined with Classic Blue.
Marsala is a truly unique shade of reddish brown, which warms the heart and represents a strong personality. It reflects grace, passion and innocence, while demanding attention. It is perfect for a self confident woman and combines with Sandstone and Classic blue.
Glacier Gray is a classic, luxurious shade which is relaxing and natural, and combines with most colors both warm and cool, and is widely used as a background color this spring.
