Ike Behar Men’s Pink Blue-Contrast Relaxed Fit Shirt
This casual shirt, made of the finest long fiber cotton, is not only superbly comfortable, exceptionally tailored and perfectly finished, it is also the realization of a true American dream.
Ike Behar grew up in Havana, Cuba, where he received a solid basis in the art of sewing in his father’s tailors shop. He started designing and making men’s shirts to complement the suits his father made, and to this day his company is best known for their shirts, although they do now offer a range of other products for men.
At the age of 20 Ike came to the US, and in 1957 he opened his first store in New York. Here he perfected his craft and developed his own personal techniques, including the diamond quilted collar which he later patented. Ike soon began designing shirts to accompany the ties of the young tie designer Ralph Lauren, and during the next 12 years of their relationship the reputation of both would grow enormously.
Ike opened his own shirt manufacturing company in Miami, at a time when most clothing manufacturers were seeking cheaper manufacturing options in other countries. Ike however believed that the America public deserved American craftsmanship and quality.
This long sleeve shirt with button down collar, single breast pocket and rounded hem is stitched with the single needle technique for which Ike Behar is famous. The strong but subtle pink color is contrasted with the clear blue of the collar lining and stand, the button placket and the thread used in the button holes and fastenings.
Make your American dream come true in this stunning shirt.
